Ian Troughton

Ian Troughton founded Troughton Air Conditioning Ltd in 1982 in Urmston, Manchester, with a simple but ambitious vision: to provide reliable, high-quality air-conditioning services delivered with honesty, craftsmanship, and genuine customer care.

Starting as a one-man operation working from a small base in Urmston, Ian built the company from the ground up—personally handling installations, repairs, and maintenance while steadily earning a reputation for technical expertise and exceptional service. His commitment to doing the job right the first time led to rapid word-of-mouth growth across Greater Manchester and eventually across the UK.

Kurt Edginton

Kurt Edginton, Company Director of Troughton Air Conditioning, began his career with the business in 1984 as an apprentice. Through dedication, technical expertise, and strong leadership, Kurt has played a major role in shaping the company into what it is today.

Over the decades, he has built and led one of the strongest installation divisions in the industry, overseeing major commercial projects across the UK and ensuring that Troughton Air Conditioning maintains its reputation for quality, reliability, and technical excellence.

Kurt’s journey from apprentice to director reflects both his personal commitment and his central role in growing the company into one of the UK’s leading air-conditioning specialists.
